UCAN / TIAM MARKETING POLICY

Effective Date: October 15, 2025
Last Updated: October 15, 2025

1. PURPOSE

This Marketing Policy outlines how UCAN Technology Solutions Inc. (“UCAN”) and TIAM Connect FZCO (“TIAM”) manage promotional communications, advertising, and outreach activities related to TIAM Events and all associated services. We value transparency and respect user choice. This policy explains how we collect marketing consents, how we communicate, and how you can control or withdraw your preferences.

2. SCOPE

This policy applies to all promotional activities conducted through:

  • Email newsletters and announcements
  • SMS and WhatsApp campaigns
  • Push notifications and in-app messages
  • Social media and digital advertising
  • Affiliate, influencer, or partner marketing
  • Retargeting, remarketing, and referral programs

It does not apply to purely transactional communications (e.g., purchase receipts, ticket confirmations, password resets).

3. CONTROLLERS

  • UCAN Technology Solutions Inc. — for users in Canada and the United States
  • TIAM Connect FZCO — for users in the UAE, UK, EU, and other countries

4. LAWFUL BASIS FOR MARKETING

We conduct marketing activities based on:

  • Consent: When you opt-in to receive marketing messages via our website, app, or checkout page.
  • Legitimate Interest: When you are an existing customer and we contact you with relevant offers about similar services (where legally permitted).
  • Contractual Communication: When information is essential for providing a service you requested (e.g., reminders about purchased events).

You may withdraw your consent or object to marketing at any time.

5. TYPES OF MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

  • Early access or discounts on upcoming events
  • Announcements about new features or partnerships
  • Personalized recommendations based on previous interests
  • Invitations to surveys, contests, or exclusive campaigns
  • Notifications about resale opportunities and loyalty rewards

All marketing content is clearly identified and includes an easy opt-out mechanism.

6. CONSENT & OPT-IN

We use explicit opt-in consent for marketing. Examples:

  • Checking a box during signup (“Yes, I’d like to receive updates”)
  • Subscribing through landing pages or promotional forms
  • Enrolling in loyalty or referral programs

Pre-checked boxes or implied consent are not used in regions where they are prohibited (e.g., under GDPR or CASL).

7. OPT-OUT & UNSUBSCRIBE

  • Clicking “Unsubscribe” in emails
  • Replying “STOP” to SMS or WhatsApp messages
  • Adjusting preferences in your TIAM Events profile settings
  • Emailing unsubscribe@tiam.events

Once unsubscribed, we will stop all promotional communications within 10 business days, while retaining the right to send transactional or legal notifications.

8. MESSAGE CONTENT REQUIREMENTS

All marketing messages from TIAM / UCAN will:

  • Clearly identify the sender (company name, address, contact email)
  • Include accurate subject lines and honest content
  • Contain a functional unsubscribe link
  • Avoid deceptive headers or misleading claims

9. THIRD-PARTY & AFFILIATE MARKETING

We may collaborate with verified partners (e.g., event organizers, sponsors, or influencers). These partners must:

  • Obtain valid user consent before marketing
  • Respect applicable anti-spam and privacy laws
  • Comply with TIAM’s brand and ethical guidelines
  • Provide opt-out links consistent with this policy

TIAM / UCAN are not responsible for non-compliant marketing conducted independently by unauthorized third parties.

10. REMARKETING & ADVERTISING TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies, pixels, and ad networks (e.g., Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok) to:

  • Measure campaign performance
  • Deliver personalized ads
  • Limit repetitive content

You can disable ad tracking or manage preferences via:

  • Browser cookie settings
  • Google Ad Settings (https://adssettings.google.com)
  • Your TIAM account privacy dashboard

We respect the Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals when applicable.

11. DATA RETENTION

Marketing data (such as email logs and opt-in records) is stored securely and retained:

  • Until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe, or
  • For a maximum of 24 months after last engagement (in accordance with CASL and GDPR requirements)

After this period, data is deleted or anonymized.

12. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Because TIAM operates globally, your marketing data may be transferred to secure servers in Canada, UAE, EU, or the U.S.

We use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and cross-border compliance frameworks to ensure data protection remains consistent.

  • Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
  • U.S. CAN-SPAM Act (2003)
